Southern Ireland Championship
This is the first year of this championship which was designed to encourage drivers to travel to other clubs.
Point System
- Points will be awarded for heats and finals only.
- Each participating club will run the league at 2 nominated events during the year.
- Even though each driver can race at the 2 events at each club only the event with the highest points scored at each club will be included for the overall points, i.e. only one event for each club will count for points.
- A driver will have to complete at least one day in each club to qualify for points.
- There will be no overall winner, only individual class winners.
- Points will only be awarded to participating drivers for the position in which they completed the races regardless of what drivers finish in front of them. For example, if a driver finishes in 3rd place, he/she gets the points for 3rd place even if the two drivers in front of him/her are not taking part in the Championship.
- Points will follow the BAS system of points for each race.
- Point are awarded to driver and car i.e. driver's own number must be on car. Adults are not permitted a change of car during an event. Junior drivers will be allowed one change as per NASA rules.
- Points will only be awarded for events that take place after a driver has signed up to take part in the championship.
Entry forms are available from all club secretaries and for further information please contact Donal Fennessy, Cork Autograss.
